NICHES

Mausoleums, Holy Spirit, St. Ignatius & Garden of Ascension

A cremation niche is a personalized, above ground space where a loved ones urn is placed inside and sealed. Santa Clara Mission Cemetery offers many niche choices and locations throughout the cemetery. Choices include single, double and 4-place indoor, outdoor, glass, marble or granite fronts.

Indoor glass front niches, located in St. Jospeh Mausoleum, provide a unique viewing of the urn, a framed photo, and other small family tributes placed with the urn. Outdoor marble or granite front niches offer families a chance to visit in a quite, natural outdoor setting.

In 1963, the Catholic Church eliminated its prohibition against cremation. Although cremation represents a means of disposition preferred by many, it is not the "final" disposition"-burial is.
